Resources for Doctors in Training (in Scotland)
With Medical Revalidation underway since December 2012, NES has been engaged in upgrading SOAR to accommodate Appraisal and Revalidation recommendations for all doctors working in NHS Scotland, in Primary and Secondary Care, including Trainee doctors.
It has been agreed at a national level that Revalidation recommendations in Scotland will be made by Responsible Officers (ROs) from SOAR. For Trainee doctors in Scotland, the Health, Probity, Complaints & Critical Incidents, and Work History declarations will now need to be completed on SOAR and reviewed and signed off by their Educational Supervisors (ahead of their review meeting).
This allows the ROs and their named and agreed proxies (your Post Graduate Deans) to access your ARCP details (imported from Turas) and declarations, as well as making the Revalidation recommendations from within the same system.
Please find below Powerpoint slideshows that illustrate how various Trainee users navigate through SOAR.
Please also visit the Trainee FAQs page if you have further queries.
