The above one day course gives an introduction to the basic techniques of dermoscopy, learning through lectures and practical workshops, and is supported by a wealth of clinical images. This course is suitable for GPs, secondary care clinicians and dermatology specialist nurses working with skin disease and is aimed for beginners, but also for those seeking a refresher in dermoscopy.
Dermoscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic technique using fluid immersion and polarised light optics to magnify the skin. Colours and structures invisible to the naked eye become visible, allowing new clinical patterns of disease to be recognised. Dermoscopy has become the standard of care in the management of patients with pigmented lesions, but it is also highly useful for diagnosis of non-pigmented lesions and a variety of infectious and inflammatory skin diseases. It is widely practised amongst dermatologists but it is increasingly being used by primary care practitioners to improve diagnostic accuracy, and help to reduce referrals.
As there are limited places available, a prompt response will be necessary in order to secure your place. Please note that the meeting will be sponsored by a number of drug representatives who will be present on the day
Anyone who is interested, please firstname.lastname@example.org with a completed registration form in the first instance. This should then be followed up by sending a hard copy of the registration form with the payment.
