This is a short collection of FAQs relating to using an iPad to access SOAR. Please note that while SOAR can be accessed on an iPad, we do not provide IT support for these or other mobile/tablet devices.

Can I use an iPad to access my SOAR account?

Yes.  However, you may need to use a desktop computer to perform some actions.

Can I use an iPhone to access my SOAR account?

Yes.  However, you may need to use a desktop computer to perform some actions and you will be limited by the size of the screen.

Will I be able to upload documents?

Yes.  You will need to update your iPad (or iPhone) to iOS9 or higher to do this.  You will also need to set up an online storage account such as iCloud Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox (Make sure that you are aware of any limit before storage charges apply.  Note that we are not responsible for management of your online data or any charges incurred when using one of these accounts).

Similar to the protcols for uploading documents to SOAR, please ensure that you do not upload any patient/person identifiable information to any of your online storage facilities.

OK, I have set up an online storage account. What next?

You will need to upload documents from your desktop machine to your online storage account so that you can access them from your device.

Once you have logged on to SOAR, select a form from the menu at the top of the page and then choose the domain that you wish to work with.  For example, to upload a file from Dropbox to form 3, domain 3:

  1. Tap the ‘Add documents’ button
  2. Tap the 'Add files' box
  3. Select ‘Dropbox’ from the menu (you may need to log in to your Dropbox account first)
  4. Select the required document from the list
  5. Click on the close button

Can I take a screenshot on my iPad or iPhone?

You can do this by holding the power button and then pressing the home button.  The result will be saved to your camera roll.

I want to add items to my CPD log electronically during a meeting. Can I use SOAR offline?

SOAR is not available offline.  However, you could use a note taking app and paste the result into your CPD log the next time that you log on.

Is there a SOAR App?

Currently, we do not have a mobile app for SOAR.  This is something that we hope to implement in the future depending on budget and resources.
