General Issues

This resource has been designed to be as simple to use as possible in order to let you focus on the tasks in hand rather than getting to grip with the technology involved!

Each of the main sections, and the individual tools within those sections, contain an introductory overview which "sets the scene" and these should be viewed before undertaking each exercise.

You can work your way through the Toolkit in any order you like, revisiting sections as often as you like, but it would be logical to view the Introduction on the home page before you start.

We recommend that you allow about 4 hours to complete the whole toolkit. In fact we would recommend that you undertake the exercises in more than one sitting, but remember to print off your results as you do the exercises, as your input will not be stored permanently.

The guide makes extensive use of an audio commentary. Although the text of this commentary appears on screen, it is recommended that speakers are connected or headphones are used to make best use of the content. You will also need a printer connected to print out your responses.

Technical Issues

It is recommended that you view the website at a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768.

You may also wish to maximise your screen when working your way through the toolkit, by simply pressing the "F11" key on your keyboard (just remember to click on "F11" again to turn your browser back to normal view!).

If you are having any difficulties running the Toolkit, it is most likely that you do not have the appropriate Macromedia Flash and Shockwave players installed. You can install these by clicking on the links below:
