NES uses Microsoft Teams as the platform to to deliver the remote appraiser training. It is important that you join the training from a device that has audio and video capacity. This is crucial for New Appraiser courses as you are expected to participate in mini appraisal practice sessions on day 2. It will also imped the tutor panel's ability to assess you to make the required recommendations.
When a course is confirmed, we will set things up on MS Teams and add everyone in (participants and tutors) and the system will send out automated email instructions with regards to joining.
Most attendees will have access to a NHS Scotland Microsoft account for their work and there will be little to no issues for them to join and access the setup. However...
... Depending on how your health board has set things up, some may not have a NHS Scotland account but still use Microsoft Office at work; and there will be others who choose to use their personal email addresses instead.
If you fall into the latter categories, the below guidance has been provided by colleagues at NHS Scotland which you may find useful.
Please do take the time to test out connections and make sure you are able to join ok prior to the training day.
If you encounter any issues please do not hesitate to get in touch - Medical.Appraisal@nes.scot.nhs.uk - do not leave this until the last minute!
