Refresher Appraiser: programme of activities

As part of the revamped Refresher Appraiser programme, there are a number of resources made available to support the development of the medical appraiser workforce in Scotland. Please select the below options for more details.

Please note, the focus of the Medical Appraiser courses is intended (and funded) for primary and secondary care doctors for the purposes of Medical Revalidation. The content is bespoke for this and whilst we welcome applications from other areas, our priorities are with the medical colleagues.

Attendance at local appraiser meetings

The modules can also be used by Appraisal Leads as part of their local appraiser group meetings. Attendance at local meetings is strongly encouraged as it offers a unique networking opportunity with peers to share experience and tips.

Refresher training days

Regular half-day Refresher Appraiser training courses, with participation invited once every 3 years.

Appraiser webinars

Webinars (recorded where possible) and workshops for medical appraisers are organised on an adhoc basis to address any current and topical trends and development.

Appraiser self-directed learning

Self-directed learning materials designed for appraisers to review and work through at their own pace.
