Medical Appraisal 2023 Annual report
I am delighted to present the latest annual report, highlighting the achievements of the past year and our plans for the year ahead.
Medical Appraisers Conference 2023
The conference will be held online via MS Teams on 13th September 2023, registration will close on 8th September – more than 200 appraiser colleagues have registered for this event. We will try to upload and share videos of each session after the conference as well.
Egan Skilled Helper model workshops
Places are still available on the mentoring workshops exploring the Egan Skilled Helper model. These introductory sessions are not designed to train appraisers into coaches or mentors but rather to offer a different tool to use in appraisal conversations. These workshops, which includes a safe space to practice the new skills, have a limited run so don’t miss out – booking details available on our website.
Additional Refreshers and new application form
We have organised 4 additional Refresher courses due to its popularity. To book your place you just need to complete an online form. Please visit the Refresher Appraiser training page for more information.
Good Medical Practice 2024
In case you missed it, the new Good Medical Practice 2024 has now been published and will come into effect on 30 January 2024. SOAR will be redesigned to factor in the changes in the coming months. For more information about the new GMP 2024 please visit the GMC website.
Increased team capacity
As highlighted in our annual report, I am delighted to announce that Pamela Curran has joined the team as Senior Officer on a permanent contract following her successful secondment; and Mandie Thrippleton's contract as Admin Officer has been extended until March 2024. Both have made significant contributions to the team in the short time they have been with us and their appointments will provide us with the stability needed to continue the service we provide.
