How to mute the conference chat notifications

How to mute the conference chat notifications

We will be using the same meeting link for all sessions at the conference, regardless of which you are joining. As such you might get a lot of chat pop-up notifications throughout the event.  There are two ways to stop this but still allow you to engage with the conference:

Option A - mute from MS Teams:

Mute notifications from Chat

  1. Click on "Chat" from MS Teams
  2. Navigate to the "Scottish Medical Appraisers Conference 2024" chat
  3. Click on the three dots to the right and select "Mute" from the options

You can also find instructions on the Microsoft website: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/hide-unhide-mute-or-pin-a-chat-in-microsoft-teams-9aee02ef-713d-495b-8a73-9762d8e4b066#ID0EDHBBDBBD

Option B - mute from within meeting:

  1. When you have joined the meeting, click on the "... More" button
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Select "Mute notifications"

During the conference sessions [ • REC ]

All sessions will be recorded and recordings will be shared on the Medical Appraisal Scotland website afterwards.

We have enabled the cameras and microphones by default so you can interact with others during the breakout groups. But for the purposes of the video recordings and to minimise disruption to others, please mute yourself and switch off the camera during the main presentations.

Breakout sessions

There will be breakout groups throughout the workshops.  If you have to leave at any point during the conference, please leave the meeting and come back later.  This is so that we are not allocating fellow appraisers to potential empty breakout groups.

Technical support on the day

There will be limited support on the day from the Medical Appraisal Scotland team.  Please use the chat function to let us know if you are struggling and one of us will do our best to reach out and assist as best we can.

We hope you enjoy the conference!
