Clinical Academics queries

Clinical Academics queries

1. Who is my co-appraiser?

A co-appraiser is assigned to appraisees who are clinical academics with an honorary role with the NHS. Appraisees in this category will normally be asked to complete an additional Academic Medicine form as part of their appraisal and the co-appraiser is usually a colleague from the university.

2. I can't see the Academic Medicine form that I am suppose to complete?

If the Academic Medicine form is not appearing on your Form 3, then you have NOT been marked as a Clinical Academic on SOAR.

Contact your local admin team (university contacts at bottom of page) for further assistance in the first instance.

3. My appraisal forms have been submitted but my co-appraiser can't see them?

There are two possibilities:

  1. Co-appraiser was not assigned to the appraisee
  2. Co-appraiser was not added to appraisal meeting

To rectify this in either case - DO NOT sign off the Form 4.  If Form 4 is signed off, the appraisal is archived and we will NOT be able to add the co-appraiser to the appraisal.

Check meeting details page first to ensure co-appraiser is part of the appraisal.  If not, contact SOAR Helpdesk with details (GMC numbers and email addresses) of who you are, who your appraiser and co-appraiser are, and we will do our best to resolve the problem.
