Revalidation


Revalidation is a process that happens in the background, unless requested specifically by your Responsible Officer, you should proceed with your usual annual medical appraisal activities.

The revalidation supporting information expected are:

Feedback from patients   x
Feedback from colleagues   x
Compliments and complaints x

Recognition of Trainer (if applicable) x  

* check with your local health boards and colleges who may have more frequent QIA requirements for appraisal.

CPD, PDP, review of Significant Events, self-declarations on Health, Probity, Compliments and Complaints are all expected at your annual appraisals.

For the purposes of medical revalidation, Quality Improvement Activity *, Feedback from Patients and Feedback from Colleagues are required once every 5 years.

Some significant events may lead to QIA projects and this is encouraged. Revalidation/appraisal minimum requirements should not be a deterrent to undertake work that could result in personal development and improved patient care.
