It is recommended that primary care doctors should undergo training in child protection every 3 years.

Additionally, occasional trigger review can help provide the GP team with important opportunities to identify patient safety-related learning needs and direct improvement efforts.

GPs are also expected to demonstrate that you are properly prepared for an emergency; and that you reflect on, and learn from, these events should they arise.

It is strongly recommended that you investigate the RCGP e-learning resource which is regularly maintained.
