Scottish Online Appraisal Resource (SOAR) is an administration tool, designed to support and facilitate the appraisal process for doctors working in Scotland. It is accessed by appraisers and appraisees for completion and sharing of online forms and supporting documents, as well as tracking appraisal progress and history. It is also supported by Local Health Board Administration teams and Appraisal Leads.
Trainees in Scotland are also asked to use SOAR to make their annual declarations on Health, Probity, Complaints, and Work History prior to their annual review meetings. This is managed by the Scotland deanery training management teams.
To gain access to SOAR, users require both a SOAR user profile (requested through the employing health board's appraisal admin teams) and a Turas account (which can be created via the Turas dashboard). Same email address for both is needed for the initial linkup.
